Abstract EN

This research deals with the narratives that written about the apostasy of Ubaydullah bin Jahsh, the companion who did not worship the idols in the Jaahiliyyah.

He was one of those who converted to Islam early on and emigrated to Abyssinia with his wife to preserve his religion and died there later on.

This is proven by the authentic narratives that spoke about him.

They even pointed out that when he died, he willed his possessions to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him).

The narratives that indicated his apostasy and his conversion to Christianity lacked the authenticity, and the most authentic one was narrated by a follower who did not witness the incident.

So, his narrative was rejected.

It is unacceptable to decide the apostasy of a Muslim person without conclusive evidence.

However, some history and biography books referred to his Christianity which gave them fame, but being famous doesn't mean that it is necessarily true.
