The Law of 16-09 on the promotion of investment issued on 03 aout 2016 The desire of Algeria to open up to foreign investments and give it greater dynamism and mobility through a range of legal and judicial guarantees or tax and administrative incentives provided by the law and which are not defined by the previous investment laws , And Algeria aims to move the wheel of economic growth and diversify revenues and optimize the exploitation of the available resources out of dependence on the hydrocarbon market, which is no longer stable, which has greatly affected the revenues of the state, as evidenced by this law that the Algerian legislator provided many guarantees To foreign investors in accordance with international conventions and treaties such as guaranteeing the equality of investors and ensuring the stability of the provisions of this law.

It also guarantees that the investor shall not be expropriated or seized except in special cases, resulting in fair and equitable compensation.

International arbitration or special arbitration to resolve disputes that may arise, as well as granting the investor the freedom to transfer capital and proceeds, all these guarantees would give a strong impetus to foreign investments in Algeria.
