Abstract EN

This article treats the impact of chosenness and divine covenant as notions in formulating the Jewish religious thought as well as Zionist political thought through Abraham and Jacob’s strory compared with the vision of Islam.

The contemplation in Jewish particular doctrines we find ourselves before a group of notions such as God’s testament or covenant, the promised land and offspring, chosen people or selection or chosenness.

Jewish religious thought is built on all of these important notions which founded what we call today Zionism.

As for the Tanakh , these notions are secular while it based on spirituality in both the Talmud and Quran.

This is represented by the ethical and spiritual legacy that the children of Israel have inherited from their patriarchs: Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob peace be upon them
