Abstract EN

The current study aimed at understanding and exploring the semantic functions of the sign language in the Qur'anic and Prophetic context, and the images of their uses.

This study was based on the qualitative approach using the analytical method, which is the most appropriate for its objectives.

The study reveals how participants understood the meanings about Sign Language in Quran and Sunnah; they numbered four participants who were selected intentionally.

Data were collected using the Semi-structured interviews approach.

The classification of data collected and analyzed the results of the study found that the sign language is synonymous with speech and that it has clear indications in the statement of the prophets, which have been proven in many images and from different personalities and for various purposes.

The results of the study also showed the multiplicity of images of the use of sign language in Quran and Sunnah through the movement of fingers and hands, through body language and the real signal.

These signals also serve as assets to support the current sign language in educational applications with deaf and hard of hearing individuals.
