Abstract EN
We treat in this paper the current status of language practice in the algerian school and the role that it plays in the consolidation of what is acquired/learned.
We start by giving a general idea of the exploited exer- cises for the acquisition/learning of language competence (the content of these exercises, their types and the time that is devoted to them).
Then, we go through the conditions of an effective practice and how we can improve the linguistic and communicative competence thanks to the proposition of grammatical communicative activities.

Nous abordons dans cet article l’etat actuel de la pratique langagiere dans l’ecole alg6rienne et le role qu’clle joue dans la consolidation des acquis/ apprcntissages.
Nous commencons par donner une id6e generate sur les exercices exploitds dans 1’acquisition/apprcntissage de la competence langa- giere (le contcnu de ces exercices, lcurs types et le volume horaire qui leur est consacre).
Nous passons ensuite a la proposition des conditions n6ccs- saires a une pratique efficacc ainsi que les moyens d’amSliorer les deux competences linguistique et communicative a travers des activitds gram- maticales et communicatives.
