This study aims to show the care of the Prophet Sunna for names and naming through investigating a

° Muslims now seem to abandon or * deviate from the prophet Sunna in naming, giving their children strange or foreign names.

The study highlights The importance of caring for the choice r of names for children and the right of parents in doing so.

The research also presents some of the weak or ignored hadiths, for a.

knowing and warning, and praising ^ the names, viz.

Mohammed and Ahmed.

It concludes that though a naming is very important, it has nothing to do with a person’s * goodness; it is only faith and good deeds that really matter
