Abstract EN

The paper deals with the reality of human soul as viewed by the Western Thought, pinpointing the deviation of the western theories which are concerned with studying human being and the sciences relating to him, and how they affect the way of treating him.

These theories also affect solving human being’s problems and setting courses of upbringing him, and consequently affecting the systems and legislations in different ways .

The research starts presenting the theory of knowledge in the western thought, being the first base and the only starting point of western thought in viewing the universe, life and the realty of human being and prescience.

This is so because the more the deviation in knowledge approach, the more the deviation in evaluating life including the realty of human soul.

The research then presents the prominent theories the western thought considers in studying the human soul, and how those theories varied, differ from, and contradicts one another.

All this is due to the difference in knowledge approach, its sources and specifying the referent of judgment of difference.
