Abstract EN

The problem of this research lies in that Yemen underwent some natural disasters which result in negative consequences in different spheres during the 10th AH/16th AD century without receiving sufficient attention from historians and researchers.

This is because they care only for studying the political and military conflicts, particularly concerning modern Yemen, in addition to observing the positive aspects of the then-ruling class.

These writings were just similar to a register of wars and rulers.

Still, however, there were a few historians who tackled these disasters and their consequences.

Thus, this research aims at shedding light on the natural disasters Yemen underwent during the 10th AH/16th AD century and their consequences.

The significance of the research lies in the importance of the 10th AH/16th AD century as a critical period of Yemen history.

It also stems from the subject matter it tackles- the historical demography, which spans over a half century in Europe.

But it is still in its beginnings in our Islamic world, in spite of its importance to the historian, particularly in understanding the present and foreseeing the future, among other important aspects of research and investigation shared by history and geography, economy, medicine, psychology and social sciences.

In addition to referring to the references and recourses concerned, the research adopts the historical descriptive and analytical approach in investigating the phenomenon under study.

This enables us to restructure the topic into two axes: the first concerns the natural.
