Abstract EN

The study aimed at shedding the light on the concept of time, time management, and time wasting that related to organization in Saudi public universities taking Najran University as a model for other Saudi universities.

The study adopted the descriptive analytical, deductive, and case study methods through using questionnaire, interview, and personal observation.

A total of 250 questionnaires were distributed to the study sample and the recovery rate was 84%.

The study revealed that there are many timewasters related to organization in Najran University, the most important of which include the ambiguity of duties, responsibilities, and authorities granted to employees; besides the lack of commitment to the principles of material and social status.

The study offered a set of recommendations on how to manage and address time wasters related to organization in the public and private institutions in Saudi Arabia, the most important of which include activation of the recruitment process (recruitment, selection and employment), allocation of specific staff to carry out quality assurance activities, and to utilize the capabilities of staff members that specialized in time management and quality in academic, research, and consultation fields.
