Abstract EN

This study aimed at identifying the role of Zakat Chamber in Blue Nile State in financing small projects, and its effectiveness in reducing poverty during the period 2005-2012.

The study followed the historical, descriptive, and statistical methods.

The study main findings pointed to the weak role played by Zakat Chamber in poverty alleviation as a result of traditional projects, lack of proper follow up for projects, the inadequate capital and return of the project, which do not match with the size of the beneficiary family.

The study recommended the need to increase the capital of the project, and their subject to accurate feasibility study, while working on their development in order to ease the phenomenon of poverty in Blue Nile State.
