Abstract EN
The purpose of this study is to identify the macro determinants that encourage or hinder entrepreneurial activity in the Maghreb.
To do this, an econometric modeling of panel data was used to estimate three types of dependent variables: female entrepreneurship, male entrepreneurship and national entrepreneurship.
The common factors that have a positive and significant influence on the three types of entrepreneurship are GDP per capita and credits provided to private sector.
In contrast, the influence of the cost of entry variable is significantly negative.
In addition, the Internet variable and the demographic growth variable appear with a positive sign are very significant for the dynamics of female entrepreneurship in the region, while the tax variable that appears with a negative sign is very significant, which suggests that there is some difference between the variables that influence female entrepreneurship and those that influence male entrepreneurship.
