Restorative criminal justice in the field of juveniles prevents the punishment of the juvenile delinquent by finding ways to rectify his or her behavior in order to rehabilitate and integrate him into society and, in turn, to put an end to the disorder caused by the victim's justice and redress, away from the traditional legal mechanisms that rely primarily on the principles of criminalization and punishment without regard to the personal and objective circumstances of the delinquent child.

Under Law no.15/12 of July 10th, 2015 on the protection of children, the Algerian legislator is inclined to adopt this criminal justice by introducing a mediation mechanism that relies on the presence of a mediator who plays an important role in resolving the dispute between the delinquent child and the victim in a negotiated manner based on the principle of satisfaction between all parties and before setting in the public action in motion.
