In the beginning of the 3rd century AH / the 9th century AD, Al-FaldI Ibn Mahan dominated the city of Sandan “Sang5n”in India during the Al-Ma’mun.

He managed to establish an independent princedom for his family, one independent from the -‘Abbasi caliphate.

His son, MuhammadIbn Al-FadI, then gained power and tried to expand the princedom externally by conquering Kali.

However, the state collapsed quickly under his, rule because of a coup against him lead by his brother, Mahanlbn Al-Fadl, who dominated Sandan and defeated and killed Muhammad.

This was a great opportunity for the Indian rulers in the region surrounding Sandan; they succeeded' In defeating Mahanlbn Al- Fadl and killed him, eliminating the; BanlMahan rule in Sandan for good.
