Abstract EN

The research aimed to identify the obstacles to scientific research that the teaching staff members face in the accounting departments of the Libyan universities, through a questionnaire consisting of four fields is the collection of information, the university environment, financial and administrative aspects.

The questionnaire was distributed to members of the teaching staff in the accounting departments of four government universities.

The results of the research on the four fields showed obstacles that limit the scientific research conducted by the members of the teaching faculty staff in the accounting departments of the Libyan universities.

The researcher recommended a set of recommendations which can contribute to the development of scientific research in the Libyan universities in general and in the accounting departments in particular.
