Abstract EN

The current study aims to identify the role of the program of physical education and sports in the development of the values of citizenship from the point of view of teachers.

the ministry of education has reviewed and evaluated its new educational program and has encouraged workers in the field to evaluate it in order to know the extent to which the desired objectives are being achieved.

among these approaches is the physical education and sports program.

from this aspect, our study focused on the social aspect, especially the development of the values of citizenship, given the importance of citizenship in societies, especially Algeria.

in order to reach results, we followed in this study the descriptive approach to the subject and the nature of the subject.

the sample of the study was represented in the teachers of physical education and sports, secondary and intermediate stages in the state of M’sila were chosen in a simple random way.

then applied the tool of the scale of citizenship presented by the researcher Faisal Ayed al-Hajri, which includes three axes of belonging and loyalty, political awareness and democracy .

note that each axis includes a set of phrases.

after processing the data through the statistical package for social sciences (SPSS) and using the appropriate test to analyze the responses, the results are : - the program of physical education and sports has an average role in the development of the value of belonging and loyalty from the point of view of professors of physical education and sports.

- there are no significant differences between the responses of the sample members of the study on the role of the physical education and sport program in the development of citizenship values due to the middle-school variable.
