دراسة تشريحية لبشرة الأوراق و المقاطع المستعرضة لسويقات الأوراق لنبات زهرة النيل Eichornia crassipes (Mart.)‎ في العراق

Abstract EN

The genus Eichornia Crassipes (Mart.)(Pontederiaceae) in Iraq has been systematically studies.

Work involving anatomical study of the lower and upper Epidermis of the leaves and the petioles transverse section.

The anatomical characters like diameters and the numbers of the stomata and epidermal cell and the distribution of the different tissue of the petioles like diameters numbers of the layers of the epidermis ,cortex and vascular veins were found to be considerable taxonomic value which diagnostic the genus .

Like the numbers of the cell on the lower epidermis it about (200-379)cell,the numbers of the cell on the upper epidermis about (128-398)cell ,and the Baranchymal diameter in the transverse sections of the stem where about (50-200)Mm.,the epidermis diameter about (5-20)Mm.,and the layers of the vasicular vein were about (3-6)layers.

So the characters like the shape and thickness of the cells of different epidermis and petioles tissues were found to be with taxonomic value which diagnostic the genus .

These results with the obtains data proved that the genus under study belong to the family (Pontederiaceae)
