Abstract EN

The natural environment of Al-Andalus (Muslim Iberia), during the Islamic rule, was so rich and diversified especially the flora.

This natural factor encouraged the Muslim society to develop the flourished botanic industry.

Numerous kinds of food and drinks were produced by big quantities.

Other goods were used for medical purposes.

The production of cotton, flax, cannabis and wine… was in progress thanks to small manufacture.

However, the industry of paper and textile was very developed powered by the rulers.

Many books and documents give details about this kind of agriculture and industry, this paper is an attempt to explore some Arabic sources of that period to show the importance of these activities which reflect a flourish civilization in Muslim Iberia.
