Abstract EN

:Alang time ago,Muslims as kulers or citiz ens cared a lot about endowment(AL Waqf) since it is considered as charity .Islam asked for and encouraged this activitity becouse it benefits its doer during his life and after life.

Endowment contriluted a lot in the flourishment of the Islamic civilization and also it gave great services to islamic society in different fields.The ough time ;Endwment developed ;Marinians had participated mainly in this field and they used it as an elementary source to supply their institutios especialy the educational ones.

To protect endowment and to ensure it continuity ;i twas necessary to write and to documentate ;this led to the emergence of endwoment writings which is an important source that need to be more studied by researchers.

Our article is under the title :Endowment writings and its imPortance –endowment of EL OBAD school in Tlemcen as model.and the problematic here is :what is the importance endowment writings as historical source ?.to have an answer we need to clarify the concept of endowment in language and terminology and the definition of endowment writings and especially the historical importance.After that we studied the example of EL Obad wakf as model and haw an researchers benefit from this model ?.

As a consequence ;we found that we cant deny the importance of endowment writing about historical events.

becouse these writings carried the raw material and they made the history.the researcher can find lot of facts in these writings and thanks to them researchers can answer many questions and give explanaions to several events in history.and complementary to the other sources ;and they open new prospects and domains for research due to the unlimited information that they provide about all domains of life :economy,culture ,society ,,,etc .For instance ;the endowment school of AL OBAD in Tlemcen in which the historian can benifit from in order to study of Tlemcen in particular and the Middle Maghreb in general.
