Abstract EN

This study aims to analyze Ibn Sahl's collection of poems “diwan Ibn Sahl's” as a model of psychological analysis known as “masochism”.

Therefore, the study applied the concept of psychological analysis to the literary text to identify the features of masochism in Ibn Sahl's poetry.

The study explained the most important influences to Ibn Sahl's personality including social and natural environment.

In addition, the ugliness of Ibn Sahl's face made a difference in his life and his tendency to spinning with male boys.

The study included two parts: theoretical concerned with the term and the poet life, and application part dealt with Ibn Sahl's masochism poetry
