Abstract EN

This study is on the phenomenon of intellectual conflict between the Muslims of Spain and the Catholic Christians in Spain during the tenth and eleventh centuries AH corresponding to the sixth and seventeenth centuries AD as a phenomenon of very complex dimensions of complexity.

Its existence is one of the features of the fixed human reality, as the human experience of the conflict goes back to the origin of man, defined by his relations at different levels: individual or collective, and also in its various dimensions: psychological or cultural, political, economic, social, or historical.

The study aims to provide a comparative framework for understanding and analyzing the conflict in Spain during the above-mentioned historical era, its nature, causes, and types.

In this regard, this study takes the view that the complex and intersecting nature of the conflict is rooted in multiple sources, including the multiple dimensions of the conflict phenomenon itself, including the overlapping of its causes and sources on the one hand, and the intertwined interactions and direct and indirect effects of the conflict on the other hand; as well as the disparity in the levels of the phenomenon in terms of extent or intensity and violence Studying any conflict and following its trajectories, especially the intellectual ones, produces new knowledge to deal with reality.

When we know the roots of ideas, we know how to face them or how to correct our journey with them.

Therefore, the study of intellectual conflict and its results is a must when we want to go in the right way because what helps to understand the facts is to understand their first roots, the real motives and understanding of the historical circumstances in which they originated.

On this basis, we present the following problem: What are the characteristics of intellectual conflict in Spain during the tenth and eleventh centuries AH corresponding to the sixth and seventeenth centuries AD? What are its driving forces?
