Abstract EN

The effectiveness of women's political participation in the rule of law and the role it plays in the shaping of public policy can only be achieved by expanding the chances of representation in elected councils, Thus the will of the state to implement this policy meets the aspirations of this group of society and a solution to the problems encountered.

Political participation of women in political life in Algeria before the constitutional amendment of 2008 and before the adoption of the organic lawn ° 12/03 fixing the modalities increasing the chances of the access of the woman to the representation in the elected councils did not reflect the reality of the political status of women in Algerian society.

However, the activation of Article 31 bits of the 2008 constitutional amendment by enshrining the quota system included in this law has resulted in considerable political representatives in elected councils.

Therefore, this research highlights the participation of Algerian women in elected councils under international requirements and legal reform efforts.
