The era of organized armed struggles was characterized by the lack of security and peace, and the various physical crimes on humans that were detailed in article08 of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court, which defined war crimes and crimes of aggression, and their elements.

The right to physical integrity of (civilian and military) victims of military operations is guaranteed and protected for all, and its violation constitutes a war crime, punishable in accordance with the sanctions regime established by the Rome Statute.
