Medical experiments are researches and studies conducted on the human being with the aim of developing biomedical and medical sciences.

There are two types: therapeutic medical experiments aimed at treating the patient, and scientific experiments aimed at obtaining new knowledge without the direct interest of those who are subject to it.

Despite its importance, medical research raises several legal problems as a result of the physical entity of the human being, as it is necessary to reconcile the interest of the person in the safety of his physical and mental health and integrity of his body, and the interest of society in the advancement of medicine in the interest of humanity, which led to the intervention of several countries including Algeria, in order to organize medical experiments within its domestic legislation by defining the conditions to be respected in order to acquire these legitimate legal acts.

The most important of these conditions is the right of a person to consent in advance to medical experiments.

The volunteer must be consulted for the experience so that he can express his satisfaction with the experiment or refrain from doing so.

In the event that the experimenter has violated the consent clause, he or she has committed an error of medical responsibility.
