Abstract EN

The study, entitled "The United States Position on the Mexican Civil War 1913-1915", was chosen in 1913 because it was the year in which Mexico saw a military coup against the rule of a constitutional president elected by one of his generals, dragging Mexico into a civil war that threatened to increase internal tensions in it.

On the eve of the inauguration of Democratic President Woodrow Wilson for his presidential post, which since his inauguration began to adopt a policy of idealism rejected by the United States, vinegar her recognition of the coup government, which contributed to the aggravation of events badly in Mexico.

The situation in Mexico did not calm down until Washington de facto recognized and formally supported the revolutionary government in Mexico in 1915, which is why we chose the end of the research period.Mexico's proximity to the United States, the length of the border between the two countries and the size of its large economic interests have given it extraordinary importance to the United States.

The developments and internal instability in Mexico after 1910 have had a negative impact on the lives, property and commercial interests of Mexico.

General Huerta's coup against President Madru's government and his assassination with his deputy by Huerta's forces in 1913 coincided with the inauguration of liberal capitalist and pro-democratic president Woodrow Wilson, who opposed the dictatorship in general and Huerta's rule in particular, Not to recognize Huerta's government because, according to his own personal criteria, does not conform to legal, constitutional and moral principles, which gave Wilson the opportunity to interfere in Mexican internal affairs and negatively affect its internal developments.

Wilson's failure to recognize the Huerta government gave the latter the opportunity to impose its control over Mexico's internal affairs and to contain armed rebellions that spread throughout Mexico against his rule, creating chaos and instability, especially after Wilson's support of opponents of Huerta's regime recognized them as an official revolutionary front, By lifting the arms embargo and imposing it on the Huerta government, prolonging the conflict and increasing the loss of life and property in Mexico.

Wilson's policy during his early years was exemplary and unrealistic when he saw that the problems in Mexico could have been resolved by demanding a new constitution and free elections and the removal of Huerta from office.

However, after 1915 the damage caused by the Mexican civil war to the people And for the many appeals by many parties in the United States to intervene and end the crisis, Wilson took a more realistic policy of attribution, support and recognition of the Karenza government, which showed that it has no plans to hold legislative and presidential elections at present until it exercises full control over all parts of the country.

Wilson stressed his position that Mexico at the time needed a strong executive authority to restore stability and get rid of the anarchy that it suffered.

Wilson's policy toward Mexico, whose main focus was to promote the establishment of a democratic, constitutional government that commits itself to its Charter with the Mexican people, remains the model that successive US administrations have taken to invoke the affairs of economically and politically weak countries to achieve their own ends.
