Abstract EN

This study aims to analyze the impact of migrants Remittances on Algeria economic growth during the period 1999-2015.

The study examined the relative importance of these transfers to a number of macroeconomic indicators, which are represented in (GDP.

non-oil export goods, goods imports, foreign direct investment, and official foreign exchange reserves).

The study revealed the low contribution of Algeria's remittances in GDP ; as it has not exceeded 3% of GDP during the study period.

This can be explained by the fact that most of the remittances of Algerian emigrants are carried outside the banking system through informal channels, and constitute 60% of the total remittances sent by members of the Algerian community living abroad.

While the contribution of remittances to non-oil goods exports and the volume of foreign direct investments Algeria were raising.

in consequence to the smallness of these two variables.

The ability of Algerian emigrants remittances in covering imports has been defined in two different phases.

The first phase was characterized by a high contribution rate, while the second phase showed regression.
