Abstract EN

This research examines the benefits and constraints of planning in small / medium -sized enterprises in the governorate of shaqra.

the paper highlights the importance of planning as a necessary element for success within the enterprises and as the guarantor of its advancement and competitiveness.

it is also one of the best ways to help small and medium-sized enterprises achieve the goals of 2030 vision and increase the level of their contribution to domestic product for about 35%, they also increase suitable employment opportunities for citizens throughout the kingdom.

the descriptive approach is adopted as being realistic and appropriate to the subject of the research through implementing a questionnaire containing direct questions.

these questions were distributed to small and medium enterprises officials in the governorate of shaqra.

data and information are compiled and then analyzed using SPSS 24, which is one of the most widely used programs for information analysis.

the present study proves that the majority of small and medium enterprises consider planning to be helpful for developing the performance of the corporation as well as contributing to the optimization of its human and financial resources.

the findings show that 71% of small and medium enterprises in the governorate of shaqra depends on short-term planning while 24% of it depends on long-term planning.

in addition, the number of workers and the size of an enterprise largely determines the quality of time-specific planning.

the major findings also display that the "lack and unavailability of proper information" combined with the "focus on day-to-day processes and practices and neglect of planning processes" are the major constraints in the planning process.

in order to realize 2030 vision, the study calls for the need to create a database containing all the information needed by smes and the organization of periodic meetings between enterprises and representatives of the banking sector on various financing.
