Abstract EN

The research aims to use the applications of the strategic analysis tool for the organization's environment in determining the strengths and weaknesses that occur in the environment of private banks in Iraq, as well as cases of opportunities and threats that take place in its external environment.

this is due to the importance of this analysis in the bank’s decisions and directives of strategic management in it, as importance of the clearly mentioned analysis and necessity as a companion and influential in all stages of strategic management through an evaluation of the competitive situation and institutional status of the organization in its private and public business environment.

using the case study method in the applied side of the research as it is most appropriate to the nature of the information required, the presence of researchers in research sites and comments of organizations and the privacy of the research, using the "SWOT" analysis checklist approved by (wheelen and hunger, 2017) after organizing, and personally distribute it to (10) of the strategic managers in the various banks, on the results of value explained to the weaknesses and strengths in the internal environment of the banks as well as opportunities and threats in the external environment.

in conclusion, the research presented a set of conclusions and recommendations for the sample and the general organizations to the necessity of strengthening the cases of apparent power, addressing weaknesses, investing in environmental opportunities, and avoiding situations of weakness and preparing for them through specific strengths.
