Abstract EN

This study deals with the concept of the right to work and the responsibility of providing it.

The importance of the study seems to shed light on the right to work as a human right guaranteed by religious and secular laws, as guaranteed by international constitutions.

As well as the work of the State of Palestine represented by the Ministiy of Labor and the union of workers in providing employment opportunities for Palestinian workers, the extent of conformity of this role with the provisions of the Basic Law and the Palestinian Labor Law.The study based on the comparative descriptive analytical method.

The study is divided into two sections: The first: The right to work between international covenants and national legislations.

The second: the role of the Ministry of Labor and the Trade Union in providing employment opportunities.

The study concluded to a set of results and recommendations The most important results: The right to work means the distribution of employment opportunities and access to resources in such a way as to enable the participation of all those seeking employment and the right to a livelihood and the benefits of such economic activities sufficient to attain an adequate standard of living.

As well as the decline in the proportion of unemployed in the latest statistics for the year 2017, as well as the unemployment rate, and this is a positive indicator of the state's interest in the issue of job creation.

The most important recommendations: Strengthening the enforcement tools of the laws protecting the right to work, as these laws are binding and must be observed as provided, and supporting the National Employment Fund and increase its budget to meet the purpose for which it was established.
