Abstract EN

The purpose of this study is to focus on the beginning of the documentary cinema in Arab world .

That is , most of Arab countries knew the documentary movies before the appearance of television .

It might be difficult to talk about setting documentary cinema up in all Arab countries, It also might be hard matter because of the lack of references, or even inexistence of them since critics, historians and journalism give all its care to narrative cinema.

In spite of this fact , We will try to shed the light over the documentary cinema in many Arab countries in which they know before long time of television entrance.

We take Egypt as an example of the oldest Arab country where documentary cinema was firstly known in Arab world.

Syria and Palestine as countries from Arab orient, Kuwait as one of Arab gulf countries, Sudan as an African Arab country, Tunis and Algeria as Arabian Maghreb countries.
