The commitment to the principle of banking secrecy is a golden rule in order to attract capital to the banking sector.

Banks have endeavored to apply this principle as a banking custom and before it is codified in the form of special legal texts in most countries of the world, including the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the Kingdom of Bahrain.

However, compliance with this principle may be a safe haven for money launderers and a catalyst for the diversion of unclean funds to the banking sector.

In this research, I tried to find the point of balance between maintaining bank secrecy and the need to abandon it in order to combat money laundering
