Abstract EN

This study aimed to identify the nature of the relationship between the Jordanian political parties and its impact on achieving its multiple functions.

Using a quantitative method, (141) general secretaries of political parties and members of parliament and senate, are involved in the sample of our study.

They were selected using a multi-stage sample.

The study reached a set of results, the most important are: First, despite the cooperation and competition between political parties, they often tend to struggle that disrupting their activities and functions.

Second, partisans believe that the nature of relationship between political parties is a cooperative rather than competitive, and vice versa, non-partisans believe that this nature is a competitive relationship rather than a cooperative relationship.

Third, there is a direct link between the nature of the cooperative and competitive relationship among political parties on the one hand and the realization of their functions on the other.

While there is an inverse link between the nature of the conflict relationship among political parties on the one hand and their ability to realize their functions on the other hand
