Abstract EN

The necropolis of Oued Chenior is about 3.5km to the S-S / E of Ain El Arbi commune (Abdi.

Ex Gounod)، Daïra of Ain Mekhlouf، 34 km to the S / SE of Guelma، the capital of the wilaya.

It is one of the largest necropolis of this kind in Algeria and even in North Africa، because it contains more than four thousand funerary monuments composed mainly of Dolmens، Tumulus، Bazinas، vaults and some menhirs، on a 10.25 km2 .

However، it remains unknown even at the local level and has not been the subject of archaeological excavations or studies.

Through this article، I would like to present this vast yet unknown necropolis، to interested readers، to establish a typology of the thousands of dolmens it contains، and to raise the problem of the megalithic chronology in Algeria، as well as the need to focus the archaeological research in this area.

Being the most numerous in the necropolis، I limited myself in this study to dolmens only; In addition I can’t insert all the data and information related to other monuments in one single article.
