Abstract EN

The research deals with a critical period in the history of the Soviet Union.

It was the German attack on its territory on 22 June 1941 , despite the existence of a non-aggression pact between the two countries on 23 August 1939 .

The German attack on the Soviet Union is a strategic mistake was committed by Hitler ,which led to opening of a second front which he had secured during his invasion of Poland in September 1939 .

This invasion also led to the outbreak of World War II.

The paper also dealt with the first beginnings of the great alliance between the United States and Britain on the one hand and the Soviet Union on the other, for providing assistance to the latter in the face of the German forces, which was able to occupy many important cities such as Kiev, preferring to encircle the city of Leningrad .

The paper also pointed to the British and Soviet forces occupying Iran in order to get the necessary assistance to the Soviet Union.
