Abstract EN

The title of the research is the rhythm and image in the Arabic proverbs, where research is exclusively to choose a collection of the most famous Arabic proverbs of Al Maydani book the Complex of Proverbs, and analyzed them according to the levels of the methodological, semantic, structural, and pictorial analysis.

The research introduces to this analytic study by explaining the concept of proverb in the linguistic term, then the importance of the Arabic proverb in its uniqueness with stylistic characteristics that are based on a strict brevity that shorten the meaning in a few words, strength of casting, and beauty of effect, and this is what immortalize it guarantee the frequency of use.

The research revealed the effect of the wording derived meters and their suggestive role in the proverb essence and its purpose, and the observation of the homology and harmony between the sounds and meanings of the word, and that is how the meaning is best represented, and the idea of the proverb is more exemplified in the mutual aid of rhythm of sound with the rhythm of meaning.

Arab proverbs also have the most appropriate and available structures to achieve the purpose for which they were formulated, as being sources of social behavior education.

This research has revealed the qualities that emerged in the Arabs such as strength, hardness, wisdom and logic that are represented in a group of different body organs such as the back, shoulder, hand and mouth.
