Since the earliest times, contacts have always existed between men belonging to different civilizations and that through invasions, emigration, trade.
On the individual level, everyone wants to settle in a specific place to preserve, defend his identity and cultural specificity.
Miscegenation and multiplicity are two intimately linked and strongly interdependent notions.
Many novelists have addressed these themes in their writing.
In this paper, we propose to study how Andree Chedid approaches and interprets the phenomena of miscegenation and multiplicity in her work, the multiple child.

Depuis les temps les plus anciens, des contacts ont toujours existé entre hommes appartenant aux différentes civilisations et cela à travers les invasions, les émigrations, les échanges commerciaux…..Sur le plan individuel, chacun veut se fixer dans un lieu déterminé pour préserver , défendre son identité et sa spécificité culturelle.
Le métissage et la multiplicité sont deux notions intimement liées et fortement solidaires.
De nombreux romanciers ont abordé ces thématiques dans leur écriture.
Dans cet article, nous nous proposons d’étudier la manière dont Andrée Chédid approche et interprète les phénomènes du métissage et de la multiplicité dans son œuvre, l’Enfant multiple.
