This paper seeks to investigate the extent to which Mauritanian television has moved from official to public television.

We will monitor the extent of this transition by focusing on mauritanian television news and news values, and we will see whether these news values have matched the contents of this transition or whether they are devoted to the continuation of television as an official television.

This paper consists of four sections, the first section is related to the methodological procedures of the study, and the second section will address the stages of Mauritanian television and its structural sectors, and in the third section we will deal with the decisions of the law on the liberation of audiovisual space related to Mauritanian television and The extent of the commitment of television to it, and the fourth section will be devoted to news bulletins on Mauritanian television, trying to reveal through the news values in these bulletins the extent to which television is transmitted from the official media to the public media.
