Abstract EN

The executive and legislative institutions within the political system are linked with a range of cooperative and regulatory relations according to the principle of power’s separation as a basic of the democratic system.

The constitution of the state defines the nature of these relations through dividing various powers between the political institutions.

Tunisia and Egypt has witnessed the process of reformulating its constitution since 2011 following the political changes due to the overthrow of their political regimes in the context of a popular revolution.

This paper attempts to identify the most important features of the Tunisian and Egyptian political systems after the revolution according to their new Constitutions, especially with regard to the relationship between the executive and legislative institutions as the core of the political system.
