This article presents the method by which the new educational choice “the textual-based approach” has been applied in the teaching of reading for the pupils, of middle school, in the fourth (4th) year level and its implementation on making them learning how to read, through the review of the curriculum and the school book to determine the degree to which the textual-based approach has been well expressed in them and how it is applied in the teaching of reading activity and the other activities linked to it
