Abstract EN

Energy is a life necessity and an important component for achieving development; and its absence means poverty and backwardness, it is the synonym of freedom.

It also takes the lead in reaching the social, economic and environmental dimensions related to a sustainable development, where the link between investment and the environment is considered as one of the major and important issues in achieving sustainable production and consumption patterns, and reducing the costs of environmental degradation and making an effective comparison between the economic and the environmental feasibility of any developmental activity.

However, the problem is not only related to resources as far as policy and technology are concerned.

Therefore, the Algerian legislator established a national policy for the promotion of renewable energies since the late 1990s, based on options that have been in place since 1981 related to energy consumption models; this policy is framed by laws and regulatory texts represented by 09/04 Law and 09/99 Energy Control Law and 01/01 Law related to electricity and public distribution of gas and other related texts.

Therefore, the research will be about the effective employment of the renewable energies law as an alternative to the oil wealth to maintain the economy by attracting investment and the extent to which the current economic system accepts new energy models through methods of relying on modern technologies, and integrating economic costs and renewable energy policies within national development policies.
