Abstract EN

The purpose of this dissertation is to determine the requirements for the development of educational leaders’ performance at Jeddah’s secondary schools in light of Kaizen, and to detect the obstacles that limit the development of educational leaders’ performance in the light of Kaizen.

In order to achieve the aims of this study, I have used a descriptive method, and the survey has been applied to a sample of the principals of public secondary schools in Jeddah.

The most important results of the study are that the requirements for the development of educational leaders’ performance in light of Kaizen are very important; the issue of technical requirements has come first with a high degree of importance; followed by material, human, organizational, and managerial requirements, all with a high degree of importance.

The study has also discovered that there are highly significant obstacles limiting the development of educational leaders’ performance in the light of Kaizen in the following order: material (paramount at first degree), human, organizational, managerial, and technical (important at fourth degree).

The study recommends recurring analysis of the actual status of educational leaders’ performance in light of Kaizen in order to discover information that may assist in making the right decisions for developmental plans; in making needed changes to the selection of leadership positions; in using the study results for improving the performance of educational leaders; and in applying them at the secondary schools of Jeddah
