Abstract EN

The world has seen over the last three decades of the 20th century, a series of economic, social and political changes which have been highlighted by the development of the charitable and voluntary sector with its institutions and non-profit organizations, it is worth that the idea of charities was originated in the capitalist west, and within the concept of goodness and kindness, and in the light of religious values, as most of these associations were linked to church.

however, this content has expanded and evolved in response to social, economic and cultural changing in those countries where these organizations have begun to play a more effective role in their communities.

in Arab countries, charitable activities started during the twenty years of the 20th century .with time, they have turned to organizations and charities that contributed to the provision of social assistance and health response to local conditions and regional environment, and then began to stand out more and more, especially after the independence of most Arab countries from colonial rule, as they have become more effective in their key role in the social and cultural life and humanity.

secondly, and as a result of political and economic changes that have affected the Arab and Islamic world, charity work knew in these countries, a significant expansion and prosperity, and helped to carry part of the burden of state responsibilities and social in many areas of empowerment, training and the fight against poverty and support for the family and children, besides the care for the elderly and the homeless, and the development of local communities and infrastructure improvements.
