Abstract EN

This study aimed at demonstrating the concept of development and societal peace as well as their relationship with each other, in addition to demonstrating the characteristics of societal peace and its elements that diverge to include authority, system, achieving justice and equality, instilling the principle of citizenship, the prevalent political culture, affiliation in addition to clarifying the mechanisms of societal peace after achieving it.

These mechanisms include the legal, political, social and cultural mechanisms.

The study also addressed the importance of providing societal peace as well as the results related to that in achieving sustainable development and the culture of societal peace as well as enhancing it to achieve development.

The study also addressed the relationship between media and social networks and their impact on development and societal peace, considering the media and social networks as main bases for globalization, which have positive and negative roles in achieving societal peace and the culture of societal peace.

The study reviewed a number of criminology theories that interpret societal peace and its relationship with media and social networks.

After reviewing the relevant literature, the study cited a number of recommendations, including: the necessity of enhancing the role of the media institution and social networks in promoting the culture of societal peace as well as rejecting all the forms of terrorism and extremism, reinforcing the culture of accepting the other, rejecting the speech of hatred, rejecting all the types of societal violence, creating a security media contradicting the destructive one that threatens the safety of societies and enhances societal violence and terrorism, in addition to converting the media institution to center that contributes to achieving societal peace by combating the threats that face the society in order to achieve sustainable development with all its forms, considering the human being as the main source of development through all the civil society institutions of schools, churches and mosques that collaborate in order to achieve societal peace by promoting the culture of societal peace and achieving development inside the society, so that a state of stability, security and intimacy will prevail within the society and maintain peace between all the security, media, economic and social contexts.
