Abstract EN

This paper sheds light on the criticism of hadith texts and its relationship with what is known as rationality.

This will be achieved (i) through the analysis of the critical views of A'ishah (the mother of believers) of the companion narrations, and (ii) through explaining the difference between them and the rationalists.

This paper includes: An introduction: which deals with rationality and its impact on hadith criticism.

Section one: it deals with the main features of A'ishah's criticism.

Section two: it deals with the rationality of the criticism, analysis of its impact which can lead to skepticism about the correct narration of companions.

Conclusion: It deals with the position of hadith scholars with regards to A'ishah's criticism.

It also refers to the distinction between A'ishah's criticism and that of modern rationalists.
