English Abstract

The study aimed to know the degree to which the daily Jordanian press relies on the Jordanian News Agency (Petra) through a survey study of journalists working in three Jordanian daily newspapers: (Alrai, Al ghad, and Alsabeel).

The study sought to explain the role played by the Jordanian News Agency (Petra), which was established on July 16, 1969 in Amman in supplying daily newspapers with local news, despite the presence of correspondents and delegates for these newspapers, and to determine the motives for the dependence of local newspaper cadres on (Petra) ) about this .

The study adopted the survey research method and belonged to the type of descriptive studies, and (the questionnaire) used a tool to collect data from the study community M.

The exclusive consist of journalists working in the three researched daily newspapers (Alrai - Alghad - Alsabeel).

The number of them at the time of the study was (205) journalists.

681 individual subjects were formed, which constituted 90.7% a percentage of the total of the researched population.

Thus, it was considered the exclusive society for the study.

The study reached a number of results, including that 62.5% of the respondents confirmed that the news is published in the same form as it appears, from its source (Petra) and that 70.5% of the respondents believe that the news (Petra) is ready to be published as it is, but by referring the news to the newspaper Not to the source.

The study showed that the Jordanian research papers relied on the Jordanian News Agency (Petra) to transmit local political news with a high degree of (2.42) from the viewpoint of the respondents, and with a moderate degree in the transfer of security and economic news then the news of the courts and courts and then parliamentary news and then in press reports and investigations The journalist.

The study revealed that the respondents believe that one of the reasons the newspapers relied on the Jordan News Agency (Petra) is of a high degree due to the reasons: The news broadcast by the agency came in a high degree, at (2.47).
