حرص ابن الجوزي في عدد من تراجمه على ذكر المنامات الخاصة بأصحابها، التي تمثل رؤيا شاهدها أصحابها ولها مكانتها في نفوسهم، و يلاحظ من خلال عرض هذه الرؤى انه قد تجاوب معها وعدها من الأمور المسلم بها، و دليلنا على ذلك هو الخبر الذي احتلته في عدد من تراجم رجاله، إذ دارت عدد من المنامات حول التقرب من الله سبحانه عز وجل و عظمته و الشوق إليه و لرؤيته في المنام وغيرها من الامور.
