Intertextual theory is a new phenomenon in the West, but old and deeply rooted in Islamic literature.

The most common type is the application of Qur'anic verses, words, and meanings in literary works.

One of the most fascinating topics in literary criticism is examining the influence of poets on other texts.

Attar Nishaburi's poems have many intertextual implications for being influenced by the Qur'anic verses and other traditions and texts and are rich in intertextual contexts which can be studied with respect to the intertextual approach.

In this descriptive-analytic study, we have examined the effects of Attar Neyshaburi's poems on words, expressions, combinations, meanings and themes of Qur'anic verses and narratives at the levels of implicit, propositional and lexical affectivity.

Among the types of intertextual relationships of Attar's poems with the Qur'anic verses and narrative or glossary and lexical efficacy narratives are more frequent.
