Abstract EN

This research included identify the most important foundations and possibilities for rural development in the district of al-Rifai one of the districts of Thi-Qar province، as well as identify the obstacles facing this development and work to develop appropriate solutions to address them which achieves the principles of comprehensive and sustainable development especially in rural al-Rifai and rural of Thi-Qar province in general the analytical approach was adopted to study the characteristics and trends of rural development.

The analysis is meant to identify the causes and factors of the phenomenon.

The aim of the research is to know the natural and human characteristics in rural in al-Rifai and to identify the potential of the village and work to transform them from the villages consumed to productive villages and support to the city and found through the research that there is great potential for rural development in the villages of the study area.

It reached search to many of the results of a wide areas of arable land grown kinds of different from agricultural crops like wheat, barley, vegetables, summer vegetables and palms as well as the presence of big cattle as it has reached the preparation of sheep to (225076), while reached the preparation of cows to (53229), and the Buffalo reached to (6).
