"Making a Scale of Performance of Staff Members of Dept.

of English Language at University in Terms of the Norms of the World Union of Teaching Language, TESOL" The present study aims at constructing a scale to assess the performance of English language instructors at the Iraqi universities in terms of TESOL areas of assessment (language, culture, lecture planning, classroom management, assessment and professional development).

A random choice was made to choose 173 to represent 54 % of the whole English language teaching staff members at the universities of (Baghdad, Almustansariyah, Basrah, Thi Qar, Muthana).

The study results have shown that there is no statistically significant differences between the attitudes of the English language teaching staff members in terms of the variable of gender in the performance fields according to TESOL criteria.
