Abstract EN

The purpose of this research is to identify the reasons for utilizing family empowerment, and identify the desired results of its application on the family and the society.

The researchers found prominent differences before and after the implementation of empowerment.

The study reviewed a number of international experiences of family empowerment in the societies that were exposed to certain conditions such as wars, revolutions, or natural disasters like floods and earthquakes.

The study shed the light on the DEEP experience to empower economically deprived families in Palestine.

Also, it discussed the empowerment of the families in Egypt after the 2011 revolution and the Bangladesh’s experience of family empowerment to limit poverty resulting from the natural disasters.

The research attempts to apply these experiences to empower the families in Syria.

Based on the examined case studies, the research proposes procedures for an action plan to implement family empowerment in Syria.

Researchers and those who are interested in community issues and the reconstruction of Syria can benefit from these steps and procedures.
