Abstract EN

This research paper discusses the obstacles the organizational communication encounters in business organizations.

The paper seeks to identify the concept of organizational communication, its features, significance, and objectives, as well as to clarify the types of organizational communication, and the functions and highlight the obstacles the organizational communication in business organizations.

The research applies the descriptive method in dealing with the topics of this research paper.

The paper highlighted the concept of organizational communication as one of the objectives this paper tried to achieve.

Among the definitions of organizational communication; the researcher determined a set of features distinguish it from other concepts, and accentuated the significance of this concept, and the objectives it pursues in the enterprises.

Also; the paper shed light on the functions of the organizational communication: production, innovation, maintenance, information, and persuasion.

The paper showed that there are two types of organization communication.

The first type is the formal communication, which subdivided into: downward communication, upward communication, and horizontal communication.

The second type is the informal communication.

The paper brought into view the obstacles the organizational communication faces, which represented in: organizational obstacles, administrative obstacles, psychological obstacles, social and cultural obstacles, environmental obstacles, and technical obstacles.

Along with that, the researcher added other obstacles that have effect not lesser than the previous ones.

Considering the reality of the bodies that engage in the organizational communication within the business organizations, the researcher pointed out the seriousness of the organizational communication obstacles as they are intertwined and hard to control the factors behind their emergence.

The researcher proposes that the organizational communication bodies to pay attention to study these obstacles, and to make advantage of these information and data in setting the communication policies according to the standards governing the activity of the enterprises, in order to avoid these obstacles in future, and thus to enable these business organizations to achieve a paramount success in undertaking their businesses.
